Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) – School Setting
We are seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support students in a dynamic school environment. Working under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, you’ll play a vital role in helping students build the skills they need to participate fully in their educational experience.
What You’ll Do
- Provide occupational therapy services to students in a school setting
- Assist with treatment planning, implementation, and documentation
- Support the collection of standardized assessment data
- Collaborate with therapy teams and educators to support student success and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Focus on student-facing care to improve access to the classroom and daily school activities
- Travel between nearby school sites as needed (within a reasonable local radius)
Schedule & Assignment Details
- Start Date: August 24, 2026
- Duration: 40-week contract (school year)
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Setting: School-based, working closely with onsite therapy teams
- Environment: Primarily student-facing, collaborative, and supportive
What We’re Looking For
- Current certification or licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state of practice
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- At least 1 year of COTA experience preferred
- Pediatric or school-based experience preferred
- Strong understanding of professional standards and best practices
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
Additional Requirements
- Current CPR certification (if applicable)
- Completion of TB screening (questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray as required)
- Current health certificate (per state or contract requirements)
- Must meet all federal, state, and local compliance requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
