School-Based | Full-Time | Weekly Pay | Pay Negotiable Based on Experience

Role Overview

Hawthorne School District is seeking committed Behavior Technicians to support students with behavioral, social, and academic needs throughout the school day. This school-based position is ideal for individuals interested in ABA support, special education, or building a long-term career in behavioral health or education.

You will work directly with students, collaborate with teachers and district staff, and help create a structured, positive learning environment for the 2026–2027 academic year.

Key Responsibilities

• Behavior intervention — Implement individualized behavior intervention plans under the guidance of a BCBA or supervising clinician.

• Student engagement — Support students in staying on task, participating in class, and developing independence.

• Behavior data collection — Accurately record student behavior, progress, and skill acquisition throughout the day.

• Classroom collaboration — Partner with teachers, aides, and school staff to maintain consistency across settings.

• Crisis prevention — Use de-escalation strategies and follow district safety protocols when challenging behaviors arise.

• IEP implementation — Support accommodations, behavior goals, and student-specific plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Experience working with children or individuals with behavioral needs preferred.

• Strong communication, patience, and professionalism.

• Ability to follow structured behavior plans and collect accurate data.

• Reliability and consistency in a school-based environment.

Compensation & Schedule

• Weekly pay

• Pay is negotiable based on experience

• Consistent school-day schedule (no nights or weekends)

Minimum Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Two (2) years of pediatric experience preferred
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable   
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements 
• Must be at least 18 years of age
