Amergis Staffing is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist for a Medical Therapy Unit (MTU) in Modesto, CA. This is a full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm assignment beginning July 20, 2026. Candidates must be comfortable working with pediatric populations and managing a structured daily caseload.

Position Overview

The Occupational Therapist will provide evaluations, treatments, and ongoing therapy services for clients ranging from birth to 21 years old. The ideal candidate is organized, clinically strong, and able to manage a consistent caseload while collaborating with caregivers, interdisciplinary teams, and educational partners.

Assignment Details

Modality: Occupational Therapist Setting: Medical Therapy Unit (MTU)

Location: 1325 Sonoma Ave, Modesto, CA 95355

Openings: 2

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm

Hours: 40 hours per week

Contract Length: 18 weeks

Start Date: 07/20/2026

Interview: In-person for local candidates; virtual for travel candidates

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of approximately 6 clients per day

• Provide physical/occupational therapy evaluations and treatments

• Develop treatment plans with functional, measurable goals

• Monitor progress and adjust plans as needed

• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and required reports

• Attend clinics, interdisciplinary case conferences, staff meetings, and in-service training

• Evaluate and order adaptive/durable medical equipment; train caregivers in proper use

• Consult with caregivers and partnering agencies

• Participate in the IEP process

• Provide general direction to Therapy Aides, volunteers, and student interns

Requirements

• Active Occupational Therapist license

• Pediatric experience preferred

• BLS certification

• Submission must include: • Resume • BLS • Active license

• Medical requirements: • TB (2-step or acceptable alternatives) • Physical (within 1 year) • Varicella (vaccine, titers, or declination) • Hep B (vaccine, titers, or declination) • MMR (vaccine, titers, or declination) • TDaP (vaccine or declination) • Flu vaccine (in season) or declination • Drug screen

Compensation

Travel Occupational Therapist Hourly Pay: $54 Weekly Meals: $476 Weekly Housing: $770 Estimated Weekly Pay Package: $3,406

Local Occupational Therapist Hourly Pay: $70 Estimated Weekly Pay Package: $2,800

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for performing client evaluations, developing and providing occupational therapy services, and documenting services in accordance with the plan of care developed for each patient.

Minimum Requirements:

• Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the State of practice
• Must be a graduate of an accredited school or program of Occupational Therapy
• One (1) year of prior professional Occupational Therapy experience preferred
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable 
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) 
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements 
• Must be at least 18 years of age
