Dental Hygienist – Corrections (Amergisum Security)

Location: Clallam Bay, WA

Setting: Amergisum Security Correctional Facility

Pay & Schedule

• Travel Pay: Up to $3,283 total gross weekly (based on 40 hours)
• Includes taxed hourly + tax-free stipends
• To qualify: must live 50+ miles from the facility
• Local Pay: $72.50/hour = $2,900 weekly gross (before taxes)
• Schedule: Full-time preferred, Monday–Friday day shift
• Flexible options available for part-time or adjusted schedules
• Contract Length: 13-week assignment with strong potential for extension

 

Position Overview

We are hiring a Dental Hygienist to support a Amergisum security correctional facility in Clallam Bay, WA. This role focuses on preventative and routine dental hygiene care in a controlled, structured environment.

This location does not perform oral surgery, allowing you to focus on hygiene services and patient education.

 

Responsibilities

• Perform dental cleanings, scaling, and root planing
• Conduct oral health assessments and document findings
• Take and review dental radiographs
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and preventative care
• Assist dental providers with examinations as needed
• Maintain accurate and compliant patient records
• Follow all facility safety and infection control protocols

 

Requirements

• Active Washington Dental Hygienist license (required)
• Minimum 1 year of dental hygiene experience preferred
• Comfortable working in a correctional or secure setting
• Strong communication and documentation skills

The Dental Hygienist performs as part of a dental health team under the supervision of a dentist. Involvement includes clinical dental work and education with specific responsibilities governed by the state in which the hygienist is employed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Current Registered License for the state in which practicing.
• A minimum of one year experience as a Dental Hygienist Preferred.
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable 
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) 
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements 
• Must be at least 18 years of age
