Description
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Audiologist to conduct Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) Medical Disability Examinations (MDEs) This position offers flexibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting Veterans throughout the disability evaluation process.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive audiological evaluations for Veterans in accordance with VBA examination guidelines.
- Perform hearing assessments, including pure-tone audiometry, speech recognition testing, and tinnitus evaluations.
- Assess and document the severity and functional impact of hearing-related conditions.
- Complete accurate, objective, and timely medical reports using standardized VBA documentation systems.
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and a Veteran-centered approach throughout the examination process.
- Provide independent medical findings for disability determinations; no treatment, prescribing, or follow-up care is required.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) or Master's Degree in Audiology from an accredited program.
- Active, unrestricted Audiology license in the state where services are provided.
- Excellent clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills.
- Experience with VA, VBA, Compensation & Pension (C&P), or disability evaluations is preferred but not required.
- Ability to perform and interpret diagnostic audiological testing in compliance with established protocols.
