Description

The estimated base pay for this position is $44.86 to $67.23. Additional individual compensation may be available for this role through differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.

 

Differential detail:

  • Evening Shift Differential: $0.90/hour
  • Night Shift Differential: $2.00/hour

Job Summary:

Assists with cardiovascular and non-invasive studies or treatments. Performs M-Mode with calculations, 2-D procedures with all necessary views and calculations and Doppler echo with analysis, all information and data as required. Demonstrates ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of the patient's age-specific needs (i.e. Pediatric Echo or Geriatric Doppler Exam) and anticipate the needs of physician and provide awareness of potential patient problems. This position is represented by SEIU.

Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:

  • Two years experience as a cardiac ultrasound sonographer and/or completion of a one year certified cardiac ultrasound course: Preferred
  • Two years experience as a vascular sonographer and/or completed a certified vascular sonographer course: Preferred
  • Two years experience as a pediatric cardiac sonographer and/or completed a certified pediatric sonography course: Preferred
  • One years’ experience as a Fetal ECHO sonographer and/or completed a certified Fetal ECHO sonography course: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Ultrasonographer (RDCS): Required
  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT): Required
  • Pediatric Echocardiography (PE): Required
  • Fetal Echocardiography (FE): Preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) Certification: Required
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (CCI-RCS) Certification or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS): Required
  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or CCI Registered Vascular Specialist (CCI RVS): Required
  • ARDMS-PE or CCI-RCCS: Required

Essential Functions:

  • Performs M-Mode with calculations, 2-D procedures with all necessary views and calculations, Doppler echo with analysis on Adult, Pediatric and Neonate patients, and documents all information and data as required.
  • Performs all peripheral vascular procedures including arterial Doppler, venous Doppler, segmental pressures, ankle-arm index, carotid ultrasound.
  • Performs tilt table exams, treadmills, 24 hour holters, and pharmacological studies.
  • Keeps up-to-date with the latest advances in cardiovascular techniques and equipment.
  • Precepts new staff members and helps mentors other staff as needed.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
