Director of Care Management
Direct Hire | Full-Time | Onsite (Not Remote)
A large acute care healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Director of Care Management to lead and oversee all care management operations. This onsite, direct-hire leadership role is responsible for strategic direction, operational oversight, regulatory compliance, and performance outcomes across utilization review, care coordination, denial management, social work, and transitions of care. The Director provides system-level leadership to ensure safe discharges, appropriate utilization of resources, and readmission prevention.
Position Overview
· Permanent, full-time, direct-hire leadership role
· Onsite position (not remote)
· Executive-level oversight of the Care Management program
· Responsibility for staffing, budgeting, planning, and resource allocation
· Leadership of utilization review, care coordination, denial management, social work, and transition planning
· Collaboration with Physician Advisors and executive stakeholders
· Focus on quality outcomes, regulatory compliance, and revenue cycle alignment
Shift Details
· Standard business hours with leadership flexibility
· Occasional extended hours based on operational needs
· Onsite presence required
Compensation & Incentives
· Annual salary range: $87,713.60 – $146,182.40 (commensurate with experience)

Key Responsibilities
· Direct the overall Care Management program, staff, and daily operations
· Set departmental priorities and provide administrative and strategic leadership
· Oversee utilization review, care management, denial management, social work, and transitions of care
· Ensure appropriate level-of-care determinations and effective resource utilization
· Support safe patient discharge planning and readmission prevention initiatives
· Collaborate with Physician Advisors on utilization management and clinical alignment
· Partner with internal and external stakeholders to optimize care coordination
· Ensure compliance with payer, regulatory, and accreditation requirements
· Provide education on evolving payer regulations, industry trends, and system impact
· Participate in system-wide performance improvement initiatives
Requirements
Education
· Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration (required)
· Master’s degree in Nursing or related field (preferred)
Experience
· 4+ years of acute care case management experience (required)
· 5+ years of management and leadership experience (required)
· Minimum of 2+ years at the Director level in a comparable acute care setting (required)
Certifications & Licensure
· Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Georgia) OR Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) (required)
· Certified Case Manager (CCM), ACM, or CMAC (preferred)
