Pediatric Occupational Therapist – Salisbury, MD
Employment Type: Direct Hire | Full-Time
Position Overview
The Pediatric Occupational Therapist (OT) is a licensed professional responsible for providing outpatient occupational therapy services to the pediatric population. This role performs evaluations, assessments, treatment planning, and implementation of individualized therapy programs designed to support positive developmental and functional outcomes.
The OT evaluates and documents pediatric patients’ functional status through clinical observation, caregiver reports, standardized testing, occupational profiles, and assessment of strengths and participation challenges. The therapist analyzes this information to identify underlying deficits affecting skill development and creates treatment plans to address those needs.
This role collaborates closely with families and caregivers in both clinic and community settings. Treatment focuses on supporting sensory-motor development, cognitive and behavioral skills, self-help abilities, fine and gross motor development, and play skills. The therapist adjusts treatment plans as needed and ensures caregiver involvement and education throughout the care process.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform pediatric occupational therapy evaluations and assessments
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Deliver therapy sessions in outpatient pediatric setting
- Assess sensory-motor, cognitive, behavioral, and developmental needs
- Collaborate with families and caregivers to support patient progress
- Modify treatment plans and goals as needed
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records
Requirements
Education
- Master’s Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program
- CPR certification required
Licensure
- Active or Pending Occupational Therapist license in Maryland
Experience
- Previous pediatric experience preferred
