Position Overview

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) works under the direction of a Staff Physical Therapist to provide physical therapy treatment programs designed to help patients restore function, improve mobility, and enhance overall quality of life. This role plays an important part in delivering compassionate, patient-centered care while supporting rehabilitation goals established by the Physical Therapist.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy treatment programs as established by the Physical Therapist
• Deliver safe and effective patient care in accordance with established treatment plans
• Monitor patient progress and communicate findings to the supervising Physical Therapist
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to departmental policies and procedures
• Support a collaborative, patient-focused rehabilitation environment

Requirements

• Previous experience preferred
• Current Physical Therapist Assistant licensure in Maryland
• Must maintain licensure requirements, including 20 continuing education contact hours (2.0 CEUs) every two years
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association
