Position Summary
The Surgical Technician plays a key role in the operating room, assisting surgeons and nurses in delivering safe, efficient, and precise surgical care. You’ll handle instrumentation, maintain sterile technique, and support procedures across a range of service lines. The role reports directly to a Registered Nurse and may involve inventory management and medication delivery responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program (community college, vocational, military, or hospital-based) – or equivalent on-the-job OR experience
- Certification: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred
- Continuing Education: Six contact hours or three college credits annually encouraged
Schedule & On-Call
- 4x10-hour shifts per week
- No night shift coverage required
- Mandatory on-call rotation for emergent cases (currently 1 in 9; subject to staffing changes)
