POSITION OVERVIEW
The Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) plays a critical role in delivering safe, evidence-based perioperative care across a wide range of surgical specialties. This nurse develops, implements, and evaluates individualized patient care plans while serving as a patient advocate throughout the surgical experience.
The OR RN ensures the safe and effective use of equipment and technology, maintains clinical competence in perioperative nursing procedures, and provides education and support to patients and families before, during, and after surgical interventions.
SHIFT DETAILS
- Flexible scheduling across day, evening, or night shifts per departmental needs
- Weekend and holiday rotations required
- Occasional overtime may be expected
COMPENSATION & INCENTIVES
- Competitive hourly pay: $33.00 – $52.80/hour

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver evidence-based perioperative nursing care in the operating room
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care
- Act as a patient advocate throughout the surgical experience
- Prepare and maintain the operating room environment
- Utilize surgical equipment and technology safely and effectively
- Provide patient and family education related to surgical procedures
- Maintain compliance with perioperative standards and best practices
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary teams
QUALIFICATIONS
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in state of permanent residency (Compact eligible)
- American Heart Association BLS certification required
- Completion of AORN Periop 101 course upon hire
- Prior operating room experience preferred
