Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Ultrasound Technologist to join our team. In this role, you will perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations using non-ionizing, high-frequency sound waves to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. You’ll work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate imaging and excellent patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures, including abdominal, pelvic, and vascular studies
- Operate ultrasound and PACS systems; ensure accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Prepare exam rooms, equipment, and supplies according to hospital policy
- Communicate effectively with patients to provide comfort, explain procedures, and obtain cooperation
- Evaluate images for diagnostic quality and notify providers of any abnormalities
- Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work environment
Qualifications:
- Required: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) and Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
- Required: BLS certification through the American Heart Association
- Education: Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology or Sonography program
- Experience: At least 1 year of ultrasound experience preferred (abdominal, pelvic, and vascular)
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Preferred Certifications:
- ARDMS (AB), ARDMS (OB/GYN), ARDMS (B), RT(VS)(ARRT), RT(BS)(ARRT)
Working Conditions:
- Regular exposure to biohazards, infectious agents, and ultrasonic equipment
- Use of protective gear including gowns, gloves, and face protection required
