Overview:The staff physical therapist functions under the general supervision of the Director of Physical Therapy. The staff physical therapist assumes responsibility and accountability for a designated group of patients and provides physical therapy evaluations and treatments in accordance with established hospital and departmental policies and procedures and within the scope of practice for physical therapists. The therapist provides care for patients with delays or other alterations in health requiring the skilled assessment, evaluation, and intervention by a physical therapist to promote functional independence. The physical therapist takes into consideration the functional, psychological, medical, cultural, social, spiritual, and developmental needs of the patient and maintains the highest degree of quality patient care. A staff physical therapist also assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of those patients being treated by Physical Therapy Assistants and may be assigned to orient staff and students.

Responsibilities:- Performs physical therapy assessment of patients needs.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive physical therapy program for patients and families which promote independence and optimal patient outcomes.
- Performs accurate and timely documentation, billing, and insurance correspondence in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
- Promotes leadership and education by participation in departmental activities and performance improvement functions.
- Delivers care in a customer friendly way consistent with the philosophy, mission, vision and values of the department and organization.
- Bachelor's Degree and No Experience necessary / On-the-Job Training Pediatric Clinical Education Experiences
- One of the following: Licensed Physical Therapist MO, Licensed Physical Therapist KS required upon hire
- APTA Membership Preferred

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $40.40/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.
Remote Work/Work from Home:
This position is not eligible to work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children’s Mercy locations and may not work from home.
