Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse Medical Surgical (Ortho/Neuro) – Amarillo, TX 79106

Start Date: June 1, 2026

Location: Amarillo, Texas

Schedule: Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30), 36 or 48-hour weekly options available. Patient ratios 1:6 days, 1:5 nights and weekends. Unit census averages 30 patients with 35 beds.

Orthopedic and neurology patient population on a 35-bed Medical Surgical unit
Telemetry monitored in centralized unit with free-floating charge nurse support
Comprehensive interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
Patient care technicians, transporters, and house discharge nurse available for support
Free covered parking, discounted meals, and local hotel accommodations available
First-time travelers accepted with competitive 91-day assignment

Requirements:

Active Texas RN license or compact state licensure
Minimum 2 years of recent Medical Surgical nursing experience required
Recent Epic EMR experience required (within the last 6 months)
Current BLS and NIHSS certifications (assistance available for NIHSS)
Experience with orthopedic trauma, total joint replacement, CVA, traumatic brain injury, and neurosurgery patients preferred
Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
Willingness to float to units of equal or lesser acuity
