Job Opportunity – Medical Social Worker – Burbank, CA 91505

Start Date: June 1, 2026

Location: Burbank, California

Schedule: Day shift, 5x8-hour (08:00 - 16:30), typically one full weekend per 4 weeks subject to department need. Patient caseload up to 25 patients. 40-hour orientation provided.

Highlights:

• Acute care medical social work position combining both social work and discharge planning responsibilities
• Epic charting system experience required
• Work with adult and geriatric patient populations in an acute care setting
• Participate in interdisciplinary care conferences and family meetings
• Business attire or scrubs acceptable
• No floating expectations within the unit

Requirements:

• Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) required
• LCSW or MSW licensure in California (pending license accepted, but must be licensed by start date)
• Minimum 2 years of acute medical social work experience performing both social work and discharge planning roles
• Experience with care coordination, discharge planning, needs assessment, and DME ordering
• Knowledge of substance abuse treatment options, homeless services, mental health crisis intervention, advance directives, POLST, and protective services processes
• Epic charting system experience required
• Travel healthcare experience required
