Description

Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (Labor and Delivery) – Anchorage, AK 99508

Start Date: July 6, 2026

Location: Anchorage, Alaska

Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (variable Day/Night rotation or straight Night shift), every other weekend required. Guaranteed 60 hours per two-week period. 13-week assignment with up to 40 hours of orientation.

Highlights:

High-volume, high-acuity Labor and Delivery unit at a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma facility
Unit includes 10 OB triage rooms, 10 LDR rooms, 3 OR suites, and 4 PACU rooms with an average of 7 deliveries daily
Care for diverse patient population including high-risk antepartum, inductions, OB triage, and third-trimester testing patients
Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
Epic charting system with free parking provided
Charge experience preferred or opportunity to train as charge nurse

Requirements:

Active Alaska RN license or ability to apply within 48 hours of signing (license in hand required for auto offer)
Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience
Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, AWHONN Advanced, and NRP
Experience with high-risk deliveries, cesarean sections, antepartum care, OB triage, and neonatal resuscitation
Proficiency with fetal monitoring (external and internal), Pitocin administration, magnesium sulfate therapy, and newborn assessment
Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
Willingness to work 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
Two professional references covering one year within the last three years
Hepatitis B vaccination required (titers or declination not accepted)
