Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery – Anchorage, AK 99508

Start Date: June 22, 2026

Location: Anchorage, Alaska

Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30). Weekend coverage required every other weekend. Guaranteed 60 hours per 2-week period with potential for one call-off per pay period. Patient ratios of 1:1 or 2:1 depending on acuity.

High-volume, high-risk Labor and Delivery unit averaging 7 deliveries daily with up to 14 patients including inductions and high-risk antepartum cases
Advanced unit features include 10 OB triage rooms, 10 LDR rooms, 3 OR suites, and 4 PACU rooms
Magnet-designated acute care hospital with Level II Trauma Center status and recognized as the best hospital in Alaska
Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and interpretation services
Epic charting system with 36-40 hours of paid orientation
Free parking and scrubs provided

Requirements:

Active Alaska RN license required (pending licenses accepted for submission but must be in hand before start)
Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience; previous travel experience required
Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, AWHONN Advanced, and NRP
Epic charting experience preferred
Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
Willingness to work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
Two professional references covering one year within the last three years
Hepatitis B vaccination required (titers or declinations not accepted)
Proficiency in high-risk obstetrics including multiple gestations, preterm labor, pre-eclampsia, neonatal resuscitation, and cesarean section recovery
