Description

Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery – Anchorage, AK 99508

Start Date: July 6, 2026

Location: Anchorage, Alaska

Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30). Every other weekend required. Patient ratios of 1:1 or 2:1. Guaranteed 60 hours per 2-week period. May float to like units within scope as needed.

High-volume Labor and Delivery unit averaging 7 deliveries daily, with up to 14 patients including inductions and high-risk antepartum cases
Magnet-designated acute care hospital with Level II Trauma designation, recognized as the best hospital in Alaska
Modern 407-bed facility featuring 10 OB triage rooms, 10 LDR rooms, 3 OR suites, and 4 PACU rooms
Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
Epic charting system with 36-40 hours of orientation provided
Opportunity for charge nurse training for qualified candidates

Requirements:

Active Alaska RN license or ability to complete license application within 48 hours of signing
Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience
Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced
Proficiency in high-risk obstetrical care, including antepartum management, neonatal resuscitation, cesarean sections, and OB triage
Experience with fetal monitoring (external and internal), magnesium sulfate therapy, epidural anesthesia, and pitocin administration
Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
Willingness to work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
Two professional references covering one year within the last three years
Hepatitis B vaccination required (titers or declination not accepted)
