Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse ICU – Athens, TX 75751

Start Date: June 15, 2026

Location: Athens, Texas

Schedule: 3x12-hour day shifts (07:00 - 19:00). 10-bed ICU unit with 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio. Weekend coverage required. One pre-approved time off period available.

Highlights:

• Work in a 10-bed intensive care unit caring for adult and geriatric patient populations
• Maintain a manageable 1:2 patient ratio with average daily census of 8 patients
• Collaborate with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, physical therapy, and phlebotomy
• Utilize Epic charting system in a modern critical care environment
• 91-day assignment with 24-36 hours of orientation provided
• Gain experience with advanced ICU interventions including ventilator management, vasoactive drip titration, and hemodynamic monitoring

Requirements:

• Current RN license (state or compact license must be active at time of application)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and TNCC preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Experience with 1:2 or 1:3 patient ratios preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Proficiency in critical care skills including ventilator management, arterial line management, central line care, vasoactive drip titration, and management of multisystem organ dysfunction
• Residency restrictions apply for certain local counties
• Must complete core onboarding items and labs within 48 hours of contract signing
