Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Medical Surgical – Lubbock, TX 79410

Start Date: June 15, 2026

Location: Lubbock, Texas

Schedule: Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00). Six weekend shifts per six-week period required. Float between units as needed. Patient ratios of 1:4.5 to 1:5.

Highlights:

  • Work in a newly opening acute care surgery, trauma, and emergency general surgery unit at a 379-bed short-term acute care facility
  • Level II Trauma Center with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
  • 27-bed unit caring for adult and geriatric populations with diverse surgical and medical diagnoses
  • Epic charting system required; 24 hours of orientation provided
  • One pre-approved time off request available; must commit to working three of five major holidays
  • 13-week assignment with 48-hour shifts approved when needed

Requirements:

  • Current RN license (compact license accepted); must be in hand at time of submission
  • Minimum one year of RN experience required; previous travel experience preferred
  • Active ACLS and BLS certifications required
  • Epic charting system experience (hard requirement)
  • Experience with 1:5 patient ratios and Level II Trauma Center preferred
  • Proficiency in medical surgical nursing skills including central lines, chest tubes, wound care, tracheostomy care, IV therapy, and post-operative care
  • Two professional references covering one year within the last three years
  • Must pass comprehensive background screening
