Description

Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse Labor and Delivery – Anchorage, AK 99508

Start Date: July 6, 2026

Location: Anchorage, Alaska

Schedule: 13-week assignment, 3x12-hour shifts (variable schedule, primarily nights with potential rotation every 4 weeks). Weekend coverage required every other weekend. Guaranteed 60 hours per 2-week period.

Highlights:

High-volume, high-acuity Labor and Delivery unit at a Magnet-designated Level II Trauma Center
Comprehensive unit features 10 OB triage rooms, 10 LDR rooms, 3 OR suites, and 4 PACU rooms
Average 7 deliveries daily with up to 14 patients including inductions and high-risk antepartum cases
Opportunity to develop or utilize charge nurse skills with training available
Epic charting system with extensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
First-time travelers accepted with comprehensive orientation provided

Requirements:

Active Alaska RN license required (pending licenses accepted for submission, must have license in hand for offer)
Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience
Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced, NRP
Epic charting system experience preferred
Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility
Hepatitis B vaccination required (titers or declinations not accepted)
Must provide 2 professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
Willingness to work 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
Ability to float to similar units as needed
