Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse ICU – Athens, TX 75751

Start Date: June 29, 2026

Location: Athens, Texas

Schedule: 3x12-hour day shifts (07:00 - 19:00), 10-week contract. Patient ratio 1:2 in a 10-bed intensive care unit with average daily census of 8 patients. Weekend coverage required.

Highlights:

• Work in a 10-bed intensive care unit caring for adult and geriatric patients
• Maintain a manageable 1:2 patient ratio with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Utilize Epic charting system in a modern ICU environment
• Receive 24-36 hours of orientation to ensure successful onboarding
• Access full support services including phlebotomy, radiology, social services, and interpretation services

Requirements:

• Active Texas RN license or compact state license (must be in hand prior to submission)
• Minimum 2 years of registered nursing experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required; TNCC preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Previous experience with 2:1 or 3:1 patient ratios
• Geographic restriction: candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris counties are not eligible
• Must complete onboarding requirements within 48 hours of contract signing
