Description
Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse Case Manager – Anchorage, AK 99508
Start Date: July 20, 2026
Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Schedule: 5x8-hour day shifts (Monday through Friday, with rotating weekend coverage). Shift times vary between 0700-1530, 0730-1600, 0800-1630, or 0830-1700. Weekend requirement includes every other weekend or 4 weekend days per 4-week schedule. Guaranteed 72 hours per 2-week pay period. Caseload of approximately 30 patients.

- Work in a 407-bed acute care teaching facility with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, rapid response, pharmacy, social services, and more
- Collaborate across all patient populations including neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics with a daily census of approximately 324 patients
- Focus on discharge planning, care coordination, medical necessity determination, and utilization management using evidence-based criteria
- Epic electronic medical record system with 24-40 hours of paid orientation

Requirements:
- Active Alaska RN license in hand required for offer
- Minimum 1-2 years of nursing experience required
- Acute care hospital experience required (behavioral health experience does not substitute)
- Epic EMR experience required
- BLS certification preferred
- ACM-RN (Accredited Case Manager) certification preferred
- Experience with utilization review criteria (InterQual, Milliman Guidelines), care coordination, prior authorizations, and discharge planning preferred
- Knowledge of CMS guidelines, ICD-10 coding, Joint Commission standards, and HIPAA regulations preferred
- Must reside at least 50 miles from facility (local candidates not accepted)
- Willingness to work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
- Willingness to float within case management services as needed
- Two professional references covering one year within the last three years required
- Hepatitis B vaccine required (titers or declination not accepted)
- First-time travelers accepted
