Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Medical Surgical – Kodiak, AK 99615

Start Date: August 3, 2026

Location: Kodiak, Alaska

Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, variable (Days 07:00-19:00 or Nights 19:00-07:00). Weekend coverage required. Shift assignment based on facility needs at time of start. 60 guaranteed hours per 2-week period.

Highlights:

• 91-day travel assignment at a Level IV Trauma, Critical Access Hospital with 46 acute care beds and 22 long-term care beds
• 5:1 patient ratio working with adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations
• Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, respiratory services, physical therapy, and rapid response teams
• Housing and rental vehicle provided by facility during assignment at no cost (restrictions apply)
• 18-room unit with daily census of 5-10 patients requiring medical surgical and telemetry skills
• First-time travelers accepted with minimum 1 year of experience

Requirements:

• Active Alaska RN License required in hand prior to submission
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience with medical surgical background
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills required: IV therapy, telemetry monitoring, blood product administration, central line management, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, heparin and insulin protocols
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted)
• Willingness to float within hospital or to nearby affiliate facilities as needed
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
• Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Hepatitis B vaccination required (titers or declination not accepted)
