Job Opportunity – Medical Social Worker – Burbank, CA 91505

Start Date: July 27, 2026

Location: Burbank, California

Schedule: Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts (08:00 - 16:30), typically one full weekend per 4 weeks subject to department needs. Caseload up to 25 patients.

Highlights:

• 91-day travel assignment at an acute care facility serving adult and geriatric populations
• Perform dual role of social work and discharge planning with comprehensive care coordination responsibilities
• Work with Epic charting system in a collaborative interdisciplinary environment
• Business attire or scrubs accepted; 40 hours of paid orientation provided
• No floating required within unit; up to 7 days of requested time off available

Requirements:

• Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) required
• Active California state license (LCSW or MSW); pending licenses accepted but must be active by start date
• Minimum 2 years of acute medical social work experience performing both social work and discharge planning roles
• Proficiency with Epic charting system required
• Previous travel experience required; first-time travelers must be screened
• Knowledge of substance abuse treatment, homelessness resources, mental health crisis intervention, advance directives, POLST, and protective services processes
• Strong skills in needs assessment, care coordination, DME ordering, family meetings, and treatment plan development
