Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Medical Surgical – Lubbock, TX 79410
Start Date: August 2, 2026
Location: Lubbock, Texas
Schedule: Day shift, 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:00), 91-day assignment. Weekend coverage includes 5-6 shifts per 6-week schedule. Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day).
Highlights:
- Medical Surgical unit caring for adults and geriatric patients with a 30-bed capacity and daily census of 30
- Patient ratio of 6:1 across all shifts with 40 hours of paid orientation
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
- Acute care focus on bariatric surgery, post-operative colorectal cases, Whipple procedures, and trauma patients
- Float opportunities within scope to MS/Tele, MS Oncology, Palliative Medicine, and Orthopedics
- One pre-approved time off period available; all scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during application
Requirements:
- Active Compact RN license (must be in hand at time of submission)
- Minimum 1 year of recent Medical Surgical nursing experience
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Proficiency in core Med/Surg skills including IV management, blood product administration, wound care, central line management, chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and PCA pumps
- Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, insulin administration, and isolation precautions
- Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
- Clean background check required; no exceptions for background findings
- Candidates located within 50 miles of the facility may be considered at adjusted compensation
