Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Medical Surgical – Lubbock, TX 79410
Start Date: August 10, 2026
Location: Lubbock, Texas
Schedule: Day shift, 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:00), 91-day assignment. Weekend coverage required (6 weekend shifts per 6-week period). Patient ratio 1:5. Floating between units required within acute care/medical surgical areas.
Highlights:
- Join a new acute care surgery, trauma, and emergency general surgery unit at a 379-bed Level II Trauma Center
- Work with a comprehensive interdisciplinary support team including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, physical therapy, and rapid response teams
- Care for adult and geriatric patients in a 27-bed medical surgical unit with diverse diagnoses including acute care surgery and emergency general surgery
- Competitive travel assignment with 48-hour shifts approved and flexible time-off options (up to 7 days with advance notice)

Requirements:
- Active Registered Nurse license (Compact license required at time of submission)
- Minimum 1 year of medical surgical nursing experience required
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Epic charting system experience required (hardstop)
- Experience with 1:5 patient ratios
- Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
- Proficiency in skills including blood product administration, central line management, chest tubes, insulin administration, wound care, tracheostomy care, and post-operative care
- Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
- Candidates must reside outside 50-mile local radius
- Commitment to work 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
