Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Medical Surgical – Topeka, KS 66606

Start Date: August 12, 2026

Location: Topeka, Kansas

Schedule: Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts (18:45 - 07:15). Option of 36 or 48 hours per week. Some weekend coverage required with variable scheduling. 13-week assignment (91 days).

Highlights:

• General medical surgical unit caring for a variety of illnesses and conditions, including stable remote telemetry monitored patients
• Patient ratios of 5-6 patients per nurse with a daily census of 24 patients
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
• Work with adult and geriatric patient populations in a 29-bed unit
• Flexible scheduling options with 36 or 48-hour work weeks available
• Orientation provided with 36 hours of onboarding

Requirements:

• Valid Kansas or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• Current BLS certification required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of medical surgical nursing experience preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Experience with patient ratios of 5-6 patients
• Must reside outside 50-mile local radius
• Willingness to float to like units within scope as needed
• Skills required include IV management, telemetry monitoring, wound care, blood product administration, central line management, and various medical surgical competencies
