Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Medical Surgical – Lubbock, TX 79410

Start Date: August 10, 2026

Location: Lubbock, Texas

Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00). Four weekend shifts required per six-week period. 48-hour work weeks approved when needed.

Highlights:

  • 13-week travel assignment at a 379-bed short-term acute care facility with Level II Trauma Center designation
  • Medical Surgical unit with 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratios across all shifts
  • Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
  • Opportunity to care for adult and geriatric patient populations with diverse diagnoses including end-of-life and comfort care
  • Free employee parking available on-site
  • Floating between units may be required; flexibility is essential

Requirements:

  • Active Registered Nurse license (Compact license accepted and must be in hand at submission)
  • Minimum of 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience required
  • Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Proficiency in skills including accessing/managing ports, blood product administration, chest tubes, central line blood draws, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, PCA management, and BiPAP/CPAP management
  • Two professional references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years
  • Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
  • Clean background check required; no exceptions for background or Nursys hits
