Job Opportunity – Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse – South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150

Start Date: September 7, 2026

Location: South Lake Tahoe, California – situated at nearly 6,200 feet above sea level in a beautiful mountain community

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 guaranteed hours per week. 13-week assignment (89 days) ending December 5, 2026. This is a travel nursing position.

Highlights:

• Work in an 8-bed Labor & Delivery unit with approximately 300 births annually at a Level III Trauma Center and community hospital
• Provide comprehensive perinatal care including pre-labor/triage, delivery, postpartum, and nursery care – nurses do it all
• Care for high-risk patients including preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, and multiples (twins only); no deliveries before 35 weeks
• Gain valuable experience working independently with significant autonomy, as no physician or anesthesia is in-house nights or weekends
• Join a supportive team environment with 3 RNs always staffed on the unit and 2 RN Lactation Consultants on staff
• Opportunity for training in nursery and lactation skills; ideal for self-starters who are adaptable and open to coaching

Requirements:

• Current California Registered Nurse license in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience required; 5+ years preferred
• Required certifications: BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and Fetal Heart Monitoring (AWHONN or NCC accepted)
• STABLE certification preferred
• Significant neonatal resuscitation experience required
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Proficiency with electronic medical record documentation
• Ability to attend cesarean sections and recover both mother and baby independently
• Awareness that an oral swab for THC metabolites will be conducted on day 1 (positive result leads to immediate termination)
• Completion of comprehensive credentialing requirements including drug screening (9-panel without THC), immunizations, background checks, and specialty competency exam
