Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery – Santa Monica, CA 90404

Start Date: August 31, 2026

Location: Beachside acute care hospital in Santa Monica, California

Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00), every other weekend required. May float to postpartum as needed. Facility may call off once per two-week pay period.

Highlights:

• 266-bed acute care hospital located in a beautiful beachside setting
• Approximately 200 deliveries per month with 9 labor/high-risk rooms, 4 antepartum rooms, and 3 triage rooms
• Comprehensive perinatal care including fetal heart monitoring, high-risk pregnancy monitoring, vaginal deliveries, and C-sections
• Epic charting system with interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams
• No on-call requirement; opportunity to provide newborn care at delivery and postpartum couplet care
• 91-day assignment with potential for professional growth in a high-acuity environment

Requirements:

• Active California RN license (must be in hand prior to submission)
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, FHM, and either AWHONN Advanced or NCC EFM (AHA certifications required for ACLS/BLS)
• Epic charting system experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Skills: Assist with vaginal delivery, circulate for C-section, sterile vaginal exam, high-risk antepartum care; scrub for C-section is a bonus
• LA fire card within the last 30 days required
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
