Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Medical Surgical – Amarillo, TX 79106

Start Date: August 31, 2026

Location: Amarillo, Texas

Schedule: Day shift, 3x12 or 4x12 option (07:00 - 19:30). 91-day assignment with 20 hours of orientation.

Highlights:

Medical/Surgical unit with telemetry monitoring in a centralized location
Patient ratio of 1:6 with support from free-floating charge nurse and house discharge nurse
45-bed unit with daily census of 37 patients, caring for adult and geriatric populations
Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
Epic charting system utilized throughout the unit
First-time travelers welcome with minimum 1 year of experience

Requirements:

Active RN license (state or compact license required at time of submission)
Minimum 1 year of inpatient medical/surgical experience
Recent Epic charting experience (within 6 months) required
Current BLS certification
Experience with 1:6 patient ratios
Skills in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, nasal cannula, and peripheral line care/management
Willingness to float to units of equal or lesser acuity
Must reside outside 50-mile radius from the area
