Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Emergency Department – Eureka, CA 95501

Start Date: September 8, 2026

Location: Eureka, California

Schedule: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (06:00 - 18:00), 3 out of 6 weekends required. Must be willing to work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year). Requested time off limited to no more than 7 days per assignment.

Highlights:

• 13-week travel assignment in a Level 3 trauma center with Emergency Department Approved for Pediatrics (EDAP) designation
• Emergency department with 20 rooms, 26 beds, and approximately 135 patient visits per day with an average daily census of 105
• 4:1 patient ratio with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and lift teams
• Float coverage to Observation Unit for ER hold patients; may float to affiliate facilities in the region
• 40 hours of paid orientation with Epic charting system
• First-time travelers accepted; wear your own scrubs (no prints)

Requirements:

• Active California RN license in hand (pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of emergency department nursing experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC (or willingness to obtain prior to start), ENPC
• Epic charting system experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Experience with all age groups: neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Proficiency in emergency nursing skills including trauma care, procedural sedation, blood product administration, ventilated patient care, IV vasopressors, and triage
• Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Must reside outside 50-mile local radius
