Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Emergency Department – Eureka, CA 95501

Start Date: September 8, 2026

Location: Eureka, California

Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (6:00 PM - 6:00 AM), 3 out of 6 weekends required. Must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year). 40 hours of orientation provided. No more than 7 days of requested time off during assignment.

Highlights:

  • 13-week travel assignment in a Level 3 trauma center Emergency Department approved for pediatrics (EDAP)
  • Emergency Department with 20 rooms and 26 beds, averaging 135 visits per day and 105 daily census
  • 4:1 patient ratio with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and lift teams
  • Epic charting system with experience in managing diverse patient populations from neonates to geriatrics
  • Opportunity to work in a combined adult/pediatric emergency setting with float coverage to Observation Unit for ER hold patients
  • First-time travelers accepted with comprehensive orientation and support

Requirements:

  • Valid California RN license in hand (pending licenses not accepted)
  • Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department nursing experience required; 3 years preferred
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC (or willingness to obtain prior to start), ENPC
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Experience with 4:1 patient ratios and community hospital setting preferred
  • Proficiency in emergency nursing skills including trauma care, ventilated patients, procedural sedation, IV vasopressors, dysrhythmia management, and triage
  • Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
  • Willingness to float to Observation Unit and potentially to affiliate facilities nearby
