Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Medical Surgical – Amarillo, TX 79106

Start Date: August 31, 2026

Location: Amarillo, Texas

Schedule: Night shift, 3x12 or 4x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30). Patient ratio 1:6. Floating to units of equal or lesser acuity required. 20-hour orientation provided.

Highlights:

Medical Surgical unit with 44 beds and average daily census of 37 patients
Telemetry monitored in a centralized unit with free-floating charge nurse support
Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Rapid Response Teams, and more
Patient Care Technicians, Patient Transporters, and House Discharge Nurse available to support workflow
Epic charting system with unit secretary support
First-time travelers accepted; 13-week assignment through November 30, 2026

Requirements:

Active Texas state RN license or Compact license (must be in hand at time of submission)
Current BLS certification
Minimum 1 year of inpatient Medical Surgical experience required
Recent Epic charting experience (within 6 months) required
Experience with patient ratio of 1:6
Skills in isolation precautions/PPE, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, and peripheral line care/management
Must reside outside 50-mile radius from the area
