Job Opportunity – Clinical Lab Scientist – Eureka, CA 95501

Start Date: September 8, 2026

Location: Eureka, California

Schedule: Night shift, 5x8-hour shifts (04:00 - 12:30). 13-week assignment with 40 hours of orientation.

Highlights:

• Fast-paced environment at a Level III Trauma Center with open heart program and active oncology clinic
• Generalist position covering hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, chemistry, serology, and limited microbiology
• Blood bank experience included; recent blood bank experience required for this second assignment
• Work with adult and geriatric patient populations in a community hospital setting
• Opportunity to extend assignment with potential blood bank coverage responsibilities
• Comprehensive orientation and support provided throughout your contract

Requirements:

• Active California state license or compact license (must be in hand at time of submission)
• ASCP certification required
• Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory experience
• Recent blood bank experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Proficiency with hospital clinical laboratory procedures including cardiac enzymes, immunoassay, CBC manual, manual differential, coagulation studies, urinalysis, quality assurance, and specimen collection
• Experience with any charting system required
• Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
