Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Outpatient Surgery – Eureka, CA 95501

Start Date: November 30, 2026

Location: Eureka, California

Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 10:00 AM - 10:20 PM, Monday through Friday. No call required, no floating required, no weekend coverage required. Opportunity to pick up additional shifts as needed.

Highlights:

• Ambulatory outpatient surgery setting with pre-op and PACU responsibilities
• Work with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Manageable patient ratios: 1:1 in pre-op and 1:4 in post-op recovery
• 16-week assignment with comprehensive orientation and interdisciplinary support including lift teams, rapid response, pharmacy, and transportation
• Epic charting system in an 18-bed/18-room unit with daily census of approximately 25 patients
• Holiday commitment required: must work 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)

Requirements:

• Active California RN license or Compact license (must be in hand at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience; at least 1 year of outpatient surgery experience required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS
• Epic charting system experience required
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Strong clinical skills in pre-op assessment, IV placement, medication reconciliation, Phase I and Phase II recovery, conscious sedation, and discharge instructions
• Experience with endoscopic/laparoscopic procedures, general surgery, orthopedics, ENT, and various surgical specialties preferred
• Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Candidates located within 50 miles may be considered at an adjusted rate
