Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Operating Room – Fortuna, CA 95540

Start Date: September 21, 2026

Location: Fortuna, California

Schedule: Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts (07:00 - 15:30). On-call required 2 days per week, including holidays and weekends. Three 24-hour on-call weekend shifts per month. 40 hours of orientation provided.

Highlights:

• Six-month travel assignment at a rural community hospital with 3 operating rooms
• Dual-role position: circulate and recover patients in a general surgery setting
• Work with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, and unit secretary
• Epic charting system preferred
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)

Requirements:

• Active California RN license or Compact license (must be in hand at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of Operating Room nursing experience required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS
• Endoscopy experience is required
• Skills required: General OR, Ambulatory OR, PACU/Recovery, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, colonoscopy, EGD, tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy, and cardiac monitoring
• Experience with electrosurgical units, code response, and fire safety protocols
• Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Clean background check required; no exceptions for background findings
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
