Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Progressive Care Unit – Eureka, CA 95501

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Location: Eureka, California

Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (18:00 - 06:30), 91-day assignment. Patient ratio of 1:4. Orientation includes 24 hours of training.

Highlights:

• Progressive Care Unit position in a community healthcare setting serving adult and geriatric populations
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, lift teams, and more
• Epic charting system utilized for documentation
• Potential to float between sister facilities in the area as needed
• Holiday commitment required: must work 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)

Requirements:

• Active California RN license or Compact license (must be in hand at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience; at least 1 year of recent experience required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Epic charting system experience required
• Must have current work references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Must have worked in the discipline within the last 6 months
• Proficiency in PCU/Stepdown or ICU skills including cardiac telemetry, central line management, blood product administration, BiPAP/CPAP management, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV starts and maintenance, and other progressive care competencies
• Clean background check required (no Nursys or background hits accepted)
• Candidates located within 50 miles considered local
