Job Opportunity – Operating Room Registered Nurse – Kodiak, AK 99615

Start Date: October 5, 2026

Location: Kodiak, Alaska

Schedule: Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts (07:00 - 15:30), 72 guaranteed hours per two-week period. On-call required including weekends. Block scheduling available upon request.

Highlights:

• Work at a Level IV Trauma Center and Critical Access Hospital with 46 acute care beds and 22 long-term care beds
• Housing provided by the facility during assignment – typically 1-bedroom apartments with free parking
• Epic charting system with 40 hours of paid orientation
• Diverse surgical caseload including general, orthopedic, urologic, and thoracic procedures
• First-time travelers accepted with minimum 1 year of OR experience
• 91-day assignment with potential for extension after 3-month break

Requirements:

• Active Compact RN license (must be in hand at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of Operating Room nursing experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Experience with general OR procedures, trauma cases, pre-op/PACU, and laparoscopic-assisted procedures
• Proficiency in Epic or similar charting systems required
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Commitment to work 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
