Description
Job Opportunity – Certified OB Tech – Portland, OR 97225
Start Date: September 28, 2026
Location: Portland, Oregon
Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00), every other weekend required, block scheduling required, 1:1 patient ratios
Highlights:
- 13-week travel assignment at a 536-bed short-term acute care teaching facility
- Specialized OB Tech role supporting labor and delivery, cesarean sections, and related surgical procedures
- Daily census of 11 patients across 20 available rooms
- Interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, interpretation services, and rapid response teams
- Epic charting system with 36-40 hours of orientation provided
- No on-call required, no floating between units
Requirements:
- NBSTSA certification required (Certified Surgical Technologist)
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a surgical technologist
- Valid state or compact license (compact license must be in hand at submission)
- Proficiency in aseptic technique, labor and delivery procedures, equipment documentation, isolation precautions/PPE, sharps safety, specimen handling/labeling, and universal protocol
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Must provide 2 professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
- Commitment to work 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
