Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Operating Room – Fortuna, CA 95540

Start Date: October 5, 2026

Location: Fortuna, California

Schedule: Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts (07:00 - 15:30). On-call required 2 days per week, including holidays and weekends. Three 24-hour on-call weekend shifts per month. Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day).

Highlights:

• 13-week travel assignment in a rural community hospital setting
• Dual-role position requiring both circulating and recovery room responsibilities
• Work with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• 3 operating rooms with interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, and unit secretaries
• 40 hours of paid orientation to ensure successful onboarding
• Enhanced winter rate period from October 2026 through February 2027

Requirements:

• Active Compact RN license (must be in hand at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of Operating Room nursing experience required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS
• Endoscopy experience required
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Experience with general OR procedures, ambulatory OR, PACU/Recovery, and pediatric general OR
• Proficiency with procedures including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, colonoscopy, EGD, hernia repairs, tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy, total joint replacement, and VATS
• Clean background check required (no Nursys or background hits accepted)
• Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
