Description
Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Mother-Baby / Postpartum – Albuquerque, NM 87109
Start Date: October 12, 2026
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Schedule: Day shift, 4x12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:30), 36 or 48 hour weekly options available. Weekend coverage required. 13-week assignment.
Highlights:
- Postpartum couplet care unit with 22 beds and average daily census of 20 patients
- Typical patient ratio of 3-4 patients per nurse
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, phlebotomy, social services, and pharmacy
- Epic charting system experience preferred
- First-time travelers accepted; unit welcomes new travel nurses
- 36-hour orientation provided to support successful onboarding
Requirements:
- Active RN license (New Mexico or Compact license required prior to start; pending licenses accepted at submittal)
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of postpartum or mother-baby nursing experience preferred
- Experience with couplet care, newborn assessment, breastfeeding support, and postpartum hemorrhage management
- Willingness to float within service area (NICU, Labor & Delivery, Antepartum) as needed
- Must reside outside 50-mile local radius
