Job Opportunity – Clinical Laboratory Scientist – South Lake Tahoe, CA, 96150

Start Date: September 28, 2026

Location: South Lake Tahoe, California

Schedule: 10-hour day shifts, 40 guaranteed hours per week. 13-week assignment (89 days). High-volume laboratory setting with independent work expectations. Some shifts may be unsupported.

Highlights:

• Travel assignment in a beautiful Lake Tahoe community health system at nearly 6,200 feet elevation
• Work in a Level III Trauma Center serving both residents and visitors to the Lake Tahoe region
• Experienced microbiology technologist needed with recent plate reading experience required
• Generalist role with Blood Bank, Microbiology, and PCR setup responsibilities
• Opportunity to work with Ortho and Sysmex instrumentation in a busy, high-volume laboratory
• Manual blood bank experience with tube and gel systems

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology or related field
• Active California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License
• ASCP or AMT certification required
• Must apply for Nevada Medical Technologist license prior to start date (if less than 3 years experience) or Nevada General Supervisor license (if more than 3 years experience)
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a generalist, including Blood Bank experience
• Recent plate reading experience required; Vitek experience preferred
• Ability to work independently and multi-task effectively within 2 weeks of start
• Spot testing/GS SOP revision and CLSI update capability is a strong plus
• Previous hospital or similar institutional experience required
• Must pass color blindness testing (Ishihara Test)
• Candidate must be aware of and consent to oral swab testing for THC metabolites on day one
