Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Emergency Department – Tuscaloosa, AL

Start Date: October 12, 2026

Location: Tuscaloosa, Alabama

Schedule: Evening shift, 3:00 PM - 3:00 AM, 12-hour shifts. Every other weekend and holidays as required. 36 or 48 hours per week available. Block scheduling options may be accommodated (Friday/Saturday/Sunday or Saturday/Sunday/Monday).

• Work in a 54-bed state-designated Level III Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center
• Serve a high-volume Emergency Department treating more than 60,000 patients annually
• Collaborative team environment with physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and support staff providing 24/7 comprehensive emergency medical services
• Patient ratios range from 1:1 for critical/trauma patients to 1:3-4 for other patients
• 13-week assignment with guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Opportunity to gain diverse experience with all age groups and acuity levels

Requirements:

• Active Alabama or Compact state RN license (temporary licenses not accepted)
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) degree required
• Minimum 18 months of RN experience working under highest professional license level; 1 year of Emergency Department specialty experience required
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications
• Must pass Dysrhythmia Basic exam during onboarding (2 attempts allowed)
• Willingness to float to other units and facilities as needed
• Proficiency with Meditech charting system preferred
