Description

Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery – Eureka, CA 95501

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Location: Eureka, California

Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (18:00 - 06:00). Weekend coverage required to meet staffing needs. Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day). Requested time off limited to no more than 7 days and must be requested upfront during submission.

Highlights:

182-day travel assignment in a dynamic Labor and Delivery unit with postpartum experience preferred
Care for a culturally diverse population including high-risk obstetric patients with approximately 15-20 average daily census
RNs circulate on cesarean sections and provide comprehensive maternal-newborn care
11 rooms with 15 beds; approximately 20 visits per day
40 hours of orientation provided with Epic charting system
First-time travelers accepted; floating required to meet facility needs within scope of practice

Requirements:

Active California state license (Compact license must be in hand at submission; pending licenses not accepted)
Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience required
Current certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, and NRP
Epic charting system experience required
Experience with patient ratios of 1:3
Comprehensive Labor and Delivery skills including vaginal delivery assistance, cesarean section circulation, postpartum hemorrhage management, fetal monitoring, epidural anesthesia, magnesium sulfate therapy, and newborn assessment
Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years required during compliance process
Clean background check required (facility does not accept background check discrepancies)
