Description

Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery – Eureka, CA 95501

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Location: Eureka, California

Schedule: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (06:00 - 16:00). Weekend coverage required to meet staffing needs. Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day). Floating may be required to meet facility needs within scope of practice.

Highlights:

182-day travel assignment in a dynamic Labor and Delivery unit caring for high-risk obstetric patients
Experience with culturally diverse patient populations and RN circulation on cesarean sections
11 rooms with 15 beds, average daily census of 15-20 patients, approximately 20 visits per day
Postpartum experience preferred; comprehensive orientation with 40 hours provided
Interdisciplinary support including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response Teams
First-time travelers welcome with at least 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience

Requirements:

Active California state RN license or Compact license (pending licenses not accepted)
Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience required
Current certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, and NRP
Epic charting system experience required
Patient ratio experience of 1:3
Proficiency in core L&D skills including fetal monitoring, labor support, vaginal delivery assistance, C-section circulation, postpartum care, newborn assessment, and breastfeeding support
Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
Request time off (RTO) limited to no more than 7 days during contract period
