Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery – Eureka, CA 95501

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Location: Eureka, California

Schedule: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (06:00 - 16:00). Weekend coverage required to meet staffing needs. Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day). Maximum 7 days requested time off per contract period.

Highlights:

• 13-week travel assignment in a dynamic Labor and Delivery unit caring for a culturally diverse patient population
• Experience with high-risk obstetrics and cesarean section circulation
• Unit features 11 rooms with 15 beds and an average daily census of 15-20 patients
• Postpartum experience preferred; approximately 20 patient visits per day
• 40 hours of orientation provided with Epic charting system
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response Teams

Requirements:

• Active California RN license or Compact license (must be in hand at time of submission; pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate
• Epic charting system experience required
• Experience with patient ratios of 1-3
• Proficiency in core L&D skills including fetal monitoring, vaginal and cesarean deliveries, postpartum care, newborn assessment, and breastfeeding support
• Willingness to float to meet facility needs within scope of practice
• Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• First-time travelers accepted
