Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery Charge – Anchorage, AK 99508

Start Date: October 2026

Location: Anchorage, Alaska

Schedule: Night shift, 3x12 or 4x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30), with every other weekend required. Guaranteed 60 hours per two-week period. This is a high-risk Labor and Delivery unit averaging 7 deliveries daily, with up to 14 patients including inductions and high-risk antepartum cases. OB Triage averages 4-5 third trimester testing patients daily.

Charge Nurse role in a high-acuity Labor and Delivery unit at a Magnet-designated Level II Trauma Center
Work in a comprehensive unit with 10 OB Triage rooms, 10 LDR rooms, 3 OR suites, and 4 PACU rooms
13 or 26-week assignment available at Alaska's premier healthcare facility
Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
Free parking and scrubs provided
First-time travelers accepted with appropriate experience

Requirements:

Active Alaska RN license required (pending licenses accepted for submission, but license must be in hand for offer)
Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience
Previous Charge Nurse experience required or willingness to train as charge
Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced, NRP
Epic charting system experience required
Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
Hepatitis B vaccination required (titers or declination not accepted)
Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
Willingness to work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
Ability to float to similar units as needed
