Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Progressive Care Unit – Spokane, WA 99204
Start Date: October 19, 2026
Location: Spokane, Washington
Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00), every other weekend required. 13-week assignment through January 18, 2027.
Highlights:
- 629-bed short-term acute care teaching facility with Level II Trauma Center designation
- Progressive Care Unit/Stepdown environment with 42 beds and 1:4-5 patient ratios
- Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
- Patient population includes cardiac conditions, CHF, A-fib with RVR, chest pain, post-cardiac catheterization, and medical-surgical patients
- Free parking and professional scrubs in any color
- 12-hour orientation provided with ongoing educational support
Requirements:
- Active Registered Nurse license (compact license accepted)
- Minimum 1 year of PCU or Stepdown nursing experience required
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Epic charting system experience required
- Demonstrated experience with 1:4-5 patient ratios
- Critical requirement: Proven ability to manage and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Proficiency in cardiac telemetry, central line management, chest tubes, BiPAP/CPAP, blood product administration, and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Flexibility to float to telemetry or medical-surgical units when needed
- Commitment to work 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
